Abstract
⺠CH2Br2 in acetonitrile is a suitable precursor for radical species and their absorption bands. ⺠We record the UV absorption spectra of the CH2Br radical in acetonitrile and methylcyclohexane. ⺠The absorption of the CH3CN·Br charge-transfer complex is also recorded. ⺠Recording these spectra is made possible due to the ultrafast decay of the iso-CH2BrBr product.
