Abstract
⺠TiO in the disordered phase and also in the form of nanoparticles can be synthesized by laser ablation of a bulk Ti target in deionized water. ⺠The nanoparticles exhibit absorption which extends in the visible range of the spectrum, a property which is highly desirable for a more effective use of the nanomaterials in practical applications. ⺠The method of laser ablation in a liquid environment provides an easy and straightforward way of synthesizing these kind of nanoparticles.
