Abstract
Studies on the luminescence properties of an Er2Te4O11 - nanocrystals dispersed tellurite glass under direct and upconversion excitation showed that its normal and upconversion luminescence efficiency were significantly enhanced after the growth of nanocrystals in the matrix. The reason of such enhancement of efficiency is explained. High upconversion luminescence efficiency of the glass showed its potential for being used as solar IR concentrator and NIR sensor.
