Abstract
A significant deuterium isotope effect was found in the length of the induction period (IP) of a cerium catalyzed Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction. The picture shows the nonlinear response of the IP upon the increasing percentage of deuterated reactants. This effect can help in the understanding of the reaction mechanisms.
