Abstract
Transient studies are used to examine the radiative decay dynamics in a series of phosphorescent platinum binuclear complexes. The complexes studied consist of square planar (2-(4â²,6â²-difluorophenyl)pyridinato-N,C2â²)Pt units bridged by either pyrazole or thiopyridine ligands whose radiative lifetimes are a function of the Pt-Pt spacings. A three-level zero-field splitting model is used to describe the lifetime dynamics of these complexes.
