Abstract
Multi-type carbon doping of TiO2 nanoparticles with pure anatase phase are prepared using a convenient controlled nonhydrolytic sol-gel method followed by calcining at 400 °C. These TiO2 nanoparticles exhibit significant photo response from UV to near infrared region in excess of 950 nm, which results from the multi-type carbon doping and the subsequent complex midgap formation.
