Abstract
Electron attachment to propionyl chloride predominantly leads to Cl− formation through resonances close to 0 and 0.7 eV, but also the molecular ion and the fragments (M-CH2)−, COCl− and (M-Cl)− are observed. The first resonance is characterized as a πCO∗ SOMO, the second as a σC-Cl∗ SOMO.
