Abstract
This Letter describes the observation of a pair of 1Îg states lying closely and having an avoided crossing around Rc = 4 Ã
which agrees well with Marnier's ab initio calculations. The interactions of the potential curves leading to the amplitude-sharing between their wavefunctions make these two 1Îg states act like a pair of twins.
