Abstract
The effects of surface trapped electrons on the dynamics of HCl adsorbed ice surfaces have been demonstrated by Car-Parrinello molecular dynamics simulations. The existence of excess electrons can lead to extensive structural and electronic changes of ice surfaces, which provide better environments for interlayer proton transfer and subsequent heterogeneous reactions.
