Abstract
Photophysical properties of boron 2-picolinoylpyrrole complex (BOPPY) which has a large Stokes shift were investigated by UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence spectra and fluorescence lifetime measurements in various solutions. The solvent dependence of the Stokes shift and the molecular orbital calculation of BOPPY indicate the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) character in the excited state.
