Abstract
Vinyl chloride physisorbs with 8 kJ/mol stronger binding on Cl-Ag(1 1 1) than on Ag(1 1 1) and with orientation with respect to the surface: Ag(1 1 1), θ = 64 ± 1° and Ï = 33 ± 1°and Cl-Ag(1 1 1), θ = 77 ± 11° and Ï = 9 ± 7°. The increased binding can be modeled with charge-dipole interaction.
