Abstract
Hexagonal self-organization of magnetic nanoparticles induced by the influence of an external magnetic field. The magnetic FePt nanoparticles are embedded in a phospholipid multilayer which, in its liquid crystalline state, allows for the necessary lateral mobility of the particles.
