Abstract
Nanotubes and nanorods of CdS, ZnS and CuS have been synthesized by a hydrogel-assisted method. Self-assembly of nanocrystals giving rise to chains of nanorods, a phenomenon similar to the growth of nanowires by oriented attachment has been observed.
