Using vibrational modes in the search for global minima of atomic and molecular clusters

Global minima of water clusters bound by the TIP4P potential are located by a new method. Clusters are generated by perturbation according to the clusters vibrational modes in a non population based search. New apparent global minima of clusters with up to 30 molecules are presented.
