Abstract
We show that helical conformations of semi-flexible chains confined to a cylindrical surface of are stabilized by minimization of bending energy and geometric constraints. Our results suggest that observed uniform helical wrapping of a polymers around carbon nanotubes is a general phenomenon for semiflexible polymers.
