Abstract
Dimethyl ether is paired with hydroperoxy radical, and closed-shell analogues HOOH and OOHâ. The more strongly bound minimum contains a OHâ¯O bond, along with blueshifting CHâ¯O; the other minimum contains exclusively CHâ¯O. The data help explain how the H-bonds are affected by the open-shell character of the OOH radical.
