Abstract
The intramolecular bridging provided by H-bond interaction has a large effect on the excited-state intramolecular charge transfer (ESICT) dynamics of 1-amino pyrene derivatives containing electron-withdrawing groups. Long-lived ICT states of hundreds of picoseconds are observed in solvents of low polarity, but in polar solvents like short chain alcohols, the ICT decay time is two-fold less.
