Abstract
Polycarbonate films were irradiated by MeV ions, including carbon clusters Cn+ (n = 1-5) with the same atomic dose and energy. The samples were measured by optical absorption and FTIT-ATR spectra, from which effective damage cross-section of carbon cluster ions could be calculated. This showed a nonlinear and selective effect of cluster ions.
