Abstract
A solution-based self-construction approach has been developed for the large-scale generation of the sisal-like ZnO architectures. The formation mechanism has been studied at molecular level. These sisal-like ZnO nanocone assemblies have shown a strong UV emission with a broad blue band emission and a high photocatalytic activity.
