Abstract
⺠Xylan is the most relevant component in hemicellulose. ⺠The pyrolysis processes of xylopyranose are investigated theoretically by using DFT. ⺠Five possible pyrolytic pathways were proposed in xylopyranose pyrolysis. ⺠The standard kinetic parameters in all pathways were calculated.
