Abstract
⺠We model three hydride bridged binuclear complexes with varied bridging ligands. ⺠The bridging methylene ligand prevents fluxional hydride migrations. ⺠Weak secondary bridging ligands such as CO allow hydride fluxionality. ⺠The proposed 1,3-butadiene activation likely occurs by fluxional hydride migration.
