Abstract
⺠Metal salts can quench the polymerization of poly-p-xylylenes (parylenes). ⺠The reaction might go through the one-electron reduction of metal salt. ⺠The process can be a two-stage reduction leading to a complete quenching. ⺠Thermodynamical barriers are negative if the standard redox potential is negative.
