Abstract
⺠X-ray spectra of a thick Pt element have been obtained in electron impact of 10-25 keV. ⺠L-shell of Pt consist of well resolved Ll, Lα, Lβ, Lγ lines while M-shell has unresolved Mξ, Mα,β,γ and M3-O1,4,5 dominant transition lines. ⺠Total M-shell X-ray yields Y(E0) is extracted from X-ray spectra of Pt obtained in electron impact. ⺠Monte Carlo calculation using PENELOPE code is made to calculate M-shell X-ray yield under distorted wave Born approximation. ⺠A good agreement is obtained between experiment and simulation for M-shell X-ray yields.
