Abstract
⺠We describe the detailed design of a liquid helium cooled X-PEEM. ⺠We investigate the effects on the performance of the microsope due to the cooling mechanism. ⺠25 K imaging is achieved after 30 min with good performance at 50 nm resolution. ⺠Two recent scientific highlights utilizing the cryogenic capabilities are summarized.
