Abstract
▶ Suppression of the imaginary part of the self energy at the gold -Mo(1 1 2) interface. ▶ Evidence for defects dominating the imaginary part of the self energy in overlayers. ▶ Subtle changes found in the band structure of gold overlayers in furrowed structures. ▶ Defects can mask direct evidence of electron-phoon coupling. ▶ In-plane surface lattice vibrations may contribute to a low Debye temperature.
