Abstract
ⶠWe have measured the Ne photoion charge state distributions after K-shell vacancy. ⶠBy combining various theoretical and experimental data, wehave shown that multiple ionization of Ne atoms by 2000 eV electron impact occurs mainly via outer-shell ionization. ⶠSuch an investigation can be employed to more complex systems as well allowing to obtain further knowledge on the several ionization pathways resulting in multiple electron removal in charged-particle interactions.
