Abstract
We firstly report the passively Q-switched solid state laser based on the Sb2Te3 saturable absorber, as far as we know. The Sb2Te3 nanosheets are prepared via a facile hydrothermal reaction method. The pulsed laser is centered at 1045.2 nm with the single pulse energy up to 0.917 μJ. Its maximum output power is 81 mW. The corresponding pulse width and repetition frequency rate are 678 ns and 88.34 kHz, respectively. These results suggest that the Sb2Te3 nanosheets prepared via a facile hydrothermal reaction method possess the great potential for near infrared passively Q-switched solid state laser.
