Abstract
The absorption, FTIR and emission spectra, as well as the luminescence decay curves measurements were performed. Stark energy levels of the Nd3+ ions were obtained from the absorption and emission spectra. The spectroscopic quality parameter and the luminescence branching ratio of the neodymium(III) ions were estimated. The investigated crystals might find applications as the down-shifting materials, to enhance the yield of silicon solar cells.
