Abstract
Two novel rhodamine-based fluorescent probe were designed and synthesized. The probes exhibited highly selective and sensitive recognition toward Fe3+ over other metal ion. In addition, the optical sensor features and the detection limit of probes for Fe3+ were investigated. Beside, we performed quantum calculations for understanding the reaction mechanism between probes and Fe3+.
