Abstract

•First report on effect of boron co-doping on CW-OSL and TL properties of LiMgPO4:Tb.•The LiMgPO4:Tb, B materials were prepared by modified solid state reaction.•The prepared material is characterized through XRD for structural conformation.•The concentration quenching at 0.005 mole of boron was observed in TL and OSL mode.•The sensitivity of LiMgPO4:Tb, B compared with commercial available Al2O3:C.

We have studied the effect of boron co-doping on the continuous wave mode OSL (CW-OSL) and thermoluminescence (TL) properties of LiMgPO4:Tb prepared by modified solid state reaction. The materials show comparative OSL with respect to commercial phosphor, when co-doped with 0.005 mol of boron in the structure where as the two peak nature in the TL glow curve is been stabilized by co-doping of boron. Also the material shows similar concentration quenching at 0.005 mol of boron co-doping for both OSL and TL signals. The TL glow curve consist overlapping peaks in temperature range 30-300 °C and these peaks deconvoluted by using peaks fit software. The kinetics parameters such as activation energy, frequency factor and order of kinetics were calculated. The prepared material is characterized through XRD for structural confirmation and FE-SEM for particle size and distribution.
