Abstract
The L-Leucine L-leucinium picrate (LLLLP), an organic optical material was synthesized and single crystals were grown by slow evaporation technique. The optical properties were investigated by optical absorption, ellipsometry and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Photoluminescence measurements showed that this compound exhibits a green emission around 2.49 eV at room temperature. The Stokes shift and the binding energy were determined. We also analyzed the dependence of the emission line as a function of temperature in the temperature range from 30 to 300 K. On the other hand, single-effective-oscillator model was used to fit the calculated data to the experimental ellipsometric spectra. Thus, the values of the dispersion energy and single-oscillator strength were determined. Furthermore, the extinction coefficient, refractive index, dispersion parameter and both real ε1 and imaginary parts ε2 of the dielectric permittivity of the LLLLP compound were performed and the results were discussed.
