Abstract
In this paper the Normalized Lifetime Thermal Lens technique was applied to a set of Nd-doped phosphate samples in order to obtain its thermal and optical properties. Moreover, radiative emission properties were obtained by the Judd-Ofelt theory. The luminescence quantum efficiency obtained by both methods agreed very well, indicating that this thermal lens approach can be used in more complex systems where no radiative property is available.
