Abstract
The paper deals with investigation of the luminescent properties of Er and Er/Ce doped solid solutions of Y1âxYbxAG garnets with x values ranging from 0 to 3.0, prepared by the LPE method in the form of single crystalline films (SCF). We have found that the effective Ce3+âYb3+ energy transfer is observed in the Y3âxYbxAl5O12:Er,Ce garnets (Y3âxYbAG:Er,Ce). Apart from that, strong enhancement of the Er3+ upconvesion luminescence in Y3âxYbxAG:Er,Ce garnets was found due to the Ce3+ codoping. Among all the investigated samples of solid solutions of mixed Y3âxYbxAG:Er,Ce garnets, the highest intensity of the up-conversion luminescence is observed for the Y1.5Yb1.5AG:Er,Ce SCF.
