Abstract
Here in this work, we have observed two peak luminescence from gold nanoparticles having the average size of 5Â nm, prepared by chemical reduction method with linoleic acid as a capping agent. TEM image shows that gold nanoparticles are of spherical shape having very narrow size distribution and XRD study confirms the FCC structure of prepared nanoparticles on matching with the JCPDS software. UV/vis study gives an absorption peak at 530Â nm due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR). Two peak luminescence at 550Â nm and 865Â nm can be attributed to the interband and intraband transition respectively when excited with 400Â nm from Xenon lamp source.
