Abstract
In this study high pressure spectroscopy of Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ is presented. The luminescence spectra of Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ are the superposition of two bands related to the 4f65d1â4f7 transitions in Eu2+ occupying tenfold coordinated site (Sr1) and eightfold coordinated site (Sr2). Pressure diminished the energy of the emission bands with the rate equal to â3.9Â cmâ1/kbar and â2.9Â cmâ1/kbar for Eu(Sr1) and Eu(Sr2) respectively. Detailed analysis of pressure and temperature dependence of the luminescence and luminescence kinetics showed that pressure causes increasing of nonradiative energy transfer from the Eu(Sr1) to Eu(Sr2).
