Abstract
Photoluminescence characterization of Li6GdB3O9 crystals in the form of both the single crystals and crystal-fibers has been done using photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy in the temperature range of 85-500Â K. A comparative spectroscopic study of PL spectra (emission and excitation), and their temperature behaviors have been carried out for both kinds of crystals. A new intense low-temperature PL emission band at 1.9Â eV (FWHM=0.3Â eV) was revealed for crystal-fiber samples examined.
