Abstract
The spectroscopic properties of LaAlO3 nanocrystals doped with praseodymium (III) and ytterbium (III) ions have been measured and analyzed. Depending on the excitation source, the different energy transfer mechanisms from ytterbium to praseodymium and from praseodymium to ytterbium ions are observed. Different concentrations of doped ions cause the white or green up-conversion emission.
