Abstract
Polycrystalline powder sample of NaSr4(BO3)3 synthesized by modified solution combustion synthesis method. The prepared sample was characterized through XRD, TGA-DTA, FTIR and SEM. The thermoluminescence and some of the dosimetric characteristics of Tb3+ activated NaSr4(BO3)3 under the X-ray irradiation were reported. The TL glow curve consists of two well separated glow peaks at 185 °C and 318 °C. The optimum concentration is 0.005 mol to obtain the highest intensity approximately comparable to commercial TLD-100. TL kinetic parameters of NaSr4(BO3)3:Tb3+ were deduced by the peak shape method. TL dose response is linear in the range of measurement. Also photoluminescence spectra of NaSr4(BO3)3:Tb3+ shows characteristic green emission when excited with 236 nm UV source.
