Abstract
The energy transfer from Cr3+ to Nd3+ for Nd/Cr:YAG (Nd: 1.0%, Cr: 2.0%) materials was investigated by measuring the temperature dependences of fluorescence characteristics. The fluorescence intensity of Nd3+ increased with temperature owing to enhancement of the absorption coefficient of Cr3+. The energy transfer efficiency was constant from 77 to 450Â K. The energy transfer time decreased with increasing temperature.
