Abstract
The interaction between 1,4-dihydroxy 2,3-dimethyl 9,10-anthraquinone (DHDMAQ) and tin dioxide nanoparticle (SnO2 NPs) has been investigated using optical absorption and emission techniques. Tin dioxide nanoparticles have been synthesized by chemical precipitation method. The experimental results reveal that the fluorescence intensity of 1,4-dihydroxy 2,3-dimethyl 9,10-anthraquinone has been quenched as the concentration of the SnO2 NPs increased. The Stern-Volmer plot indicates that SnO2 NPs have dynamic quenching efficiency on the fluorescence nature of DHDMAQ. The obtained value of the association constant infers that there is an association between DHDMAQ and the SnO2 nanoparticles.
