Abstract
► We extracted fraxinellone ourselves and characterized the product by UV-vis, FT-IR, MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR methods. ► The interaction between fraxinellone and BSA was investigated by fluorescence quenching. ► The fluorescence quenching mechanism is static quenching. ► Synchronous and FT-IR data revealed conformational changes in the BSA. ► Docking studies predict that fraxinellone is located in sub-domain IIA of BSA.
