Abstract
► Ho3+/Er3+ codoped ZBLAY glass is prepared. ► Intense 2 μm emission is obtained when pumped by conventional 800 nm LD. ► The luminescence characteristics and energy transfer dynamics are investigated. ► Ho3+/Er3+ doped ZBLAY glass is a candidate for efficient 2 μm laser.
