Abstract
⺠A new red phosphor, La2SrB10O19:Eu3+ (LSB:Eu) has been prepared by solid-state reaction method. ⺠LSB:Eu has the strongest absorption in near-UV region (at 395 nm) and the second strongest one in blue region (at 465 nm). ⺠LSB:Eu can emit bright red light at about 616 nm (5D0-7F2) under near-UV excitation. ⺠Eu3+ ions occupy both La3+ and Ca2+ sites in LSB crystal. ⺠The optimum concentration for Eu3+ in LSB is high up to 30 mol%.
