Abstract
⺠We examine structurally modified fluorescence in two longhorn beetles. ⺠Reflection and emission are complementary processes in the final visual aspect. ⺠The specific three-dimensional photonic structure of the scales is the keystone. ⺠Structure impacts the spatial angular distribution of reflected and emitted light.
