Abstract
► 2.9 μm emission is obtained in Dy3+/Tm3+ codoped fluorophosphate glass. ► Radiative properties have been determined using the Judd-Ofelt theory. ► Energy transfer is analyzed when pumped by a conventional 800 nm LD. ► Present glass possesses good thermal stability and energy transfer microparameters. ► Dy3+/Tm3+ codoped fluorophosphate glass is a good candidate for efficient 2.9 μm laser.
