Abstract
⺠2.9 μm emission is obtained in Dy3+/Tm3+ codoped fluorophosphate glass. ⺠Radiative properties have been determined using the Judd-Ofelt theory. ⺠Energy transfer is analyzed when pumped by a conventional 800 nm LD. ⺠Present glass possesses good thermal stability and energy transfer microparameters. ⺠Dy3+/Tm3+ codoped fluorophosphate glass is a good candidate for efficient 2.9 μm laser.
