Abstract
⺠First reliable observation of photoluminescence (PL) in polyazomethine (PPI). ⺠PL spectrum of PPI appears to be strongly temperature-dependent. ⺠Weak PL of PPI is a result of non-radiative state occupied by lone electron pair.
