Abstract
⺠Sm3+ and Dy3+: BaYW ceramics were prepared by solid state reaction method. ⺠Sm3+: BaYW ceramics have shown an intense reddish-orange color emission. ⺠Dy3+: BaYW ceramics have shown an intense blue color emission. ⺠The nature of the transitions observed in the emission spectra is explained. ⺠Phenomenon of concentration quenching has been clearly discussed.
