Abstract
► Na6CaP2O9 were prepared by high temperature solid state reaction method. ► A strong blue emission centered at 475 nm was observed, excited with 403 nm. ► Red emission is observed by introducing Sm3+ ions into the Na6CaP2O9. ► Na6CaP2O9:Sm3+ phosphors may be a promising blue/red component for NUV WLEDs. ► Materials may be low cost and energy saving phosphor for lighting.
