Abstract
⺠We have investigated trapping of free excitons at oxygen vacancies in cuprous oxide. ⺠Lifetimes of free and trapped excitons exhibit correlative temperature dependence. ⺠Four-level model with the activation energy of 33 meV well explains the observation. ⺠Comparison is made using the four samples with different vacancy concentrations. ⺠We clarified the crucial role of the oxygen vacancy in shortening the lifetimes.
