Abstract
► Eu3+-doped metal tungstate was synthesized as a red phosphor for white LEDs. ► Crystal structure is tetragonal with a space group of I41/c. ► A strong absorption in the near UV to green range was observed. ► High doping of Eu3+ enhanced the absorption of near UV light and red emission.
